Upcycle a Plant Pot
There are some great art materials available these days that make upcycling of old items very easy. As a certified Powertex tutor, I highly recommend this product for craft projects – especially when you want something to be suitable for the garden. So today I suggest you get creative and upcycle an old flower pot – with Mothers Day coming up this could make the perfect personalised gift.
Powertex is a simple and fast way of creating a year round weatherproof finish in one step, no extra varnish required. It is an environmentally friendly, water-based liquid hardening medium with many creative possibilities!
If you don’t have any Powertex, you can still upcycle a flowerpot by painting an old clay pot in vibrant colours to bring a smile to your patio. The best paints for painting on clay pots directly are acrylics, but you will need to finish with an Acrylic Varnish to make them suitable for outdoors. Also in the winter months, these are best brought inside as the finish will not survive freezing temperatures.
Powertex is available to order online only or through your local certified tutor (visit https://www.powertex.co.uk/ to order and list of tutors/stockists)
