What does clarity mean for your business?

What does clarity mean for your business?

In my world, as a business clarity coach, I see clarity as the following:

  • Clarity is getting insight into the DNA of your business, what is the essence of what you do.
  • Clarity is defining what you do best for your market and identifying exactly what types of clients you’re seeking to serve.
  • Clarity is being in touch with your unique premise so that you’re not just another commodity provider.
  • Clarity is wrapping simple and memorable words around your value and your offering.
  • Clarity is that 20/20 focus that cuts through the fog and lets you stand out from the noise.
  • Clarity fuels effective marketing and selling.
  • Clarity brings action. Action brings results.

Steve Woodruff, in his book "Clarity Wins" add in an interesting point of view to the topic that highlight for the self-led business owner, clarity is even more important:

“This clarity-fuelled mindset will be particularly valuable if you’ve always felt that you had to fit into the confining expectations of a business world designed by others.” — Steve Woodruff

And Donald Miller, a strong advocate of story selling, highlights that you first need clarity on your message before you outsource to elements like design.

“If we pay a lot of money to a design agency without first clarifying our message, we might as well be holding a bullhorn up to a monkey. The only thing a potential customer will hear is noise.” — Donald Miller

I couldn't agree more.

If you don't have clarity on your unique premise, your signature solution and your offers which connect to this, then you will be wasting a lot of time and money.

Clarity for the win every time.

When you have years of experience and expertise to draw on, it can be hard to see the clarity of where you are at now and where you can go.

When you are inside the bottle, it’s very hard to see the label on the outside. But then you get confronted by The Clarity Paradox™

The Clarity Paradox™

Experts often suffer from The Clarity Paradox™. This can be explained easily - but it’s far harder to step out of the storm.

What is The Clarity Paradox™?

  • You need clarity to take action: Procrastination rocks up every time that clarity is missing. It's your subconscious's way of saying "hey, I don't get this, I need to think about it some more... so I won't do anything." Not helpful.

This then leads us to the next part of the quandary that is ...

  • You need to take action to get clarity: To get out of the procrastination loop, you need to take some form of action, such as asking someone for advice on what they would do. This is seeking clarity externally. When you hear something that feels like that could work for you, you move into action. You try something out, and by doing so you gain clarity of the task at hand.

You end up getting stuck in an endless loop of needing clarity to take action, and needing to take action to have clarity. When you are inside the bottle, it’s very hard to see the label on the outside. This is where the coach, mentor, consultant steps in to help you gain clarity.

Maybe, you started out with a strong vision, but along the way, the waters have muddied and you’ve found yourself in a less than ideal situation.

It's highly likely that you will get to a point where you want to switch up how and maybe even what you’re serving.

But you’ve no idea how or where to start.

This is where the coach, mentor, consultant, trainer, or myself steps in to help you gain clarity.

I support ambitious expert business owners* gain clarity on their unique premise, their offer suite so they can move into clarity-fuelled action and get the sales they desire.

If this sounds like you, reach out and book a call to discuss if The Spark Space, my business accelerator is a good fit for you. Every few months I open the doors to a select few who are ready to step up and play the bigger game.

*Expert business owners take on many titles, here are just a few: coaches, consultants, mentors, trainers, educators, change-makers, facilitators, therapists and more. Basically anyone in the business of transformation.
